BGMPO FY20-21 Final Unified Planning Work Program
The Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP) is a narrative description of the annual technical work program for a continuing, cooperative, and comprehensive (3C) transportation planning process in the BGMPO region. The UPWP provides an indication of regional long- and short-range transportation planning objectives, the manner in which these objectives will be achieved, the budget necessary to implement the overall planning effort, and the sources of funding for each specific program task. Work tasks within the UPWP are reflective of planning efforts originating from transportation requirements at the federal, state, and regional levels. Many tasks are specifically targeted to implement provisions of federal legislation such as FAST-ACT, MAP-21, Title VI, and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The BGMPO FY 21 UPWP can be found here.
Triangle Region Air Quality Conformity
Air quality transportation conformity is required by the Clean Air Act (section 176(c) (42 U.S.C. 7506(c)) to ensure that federal funding and approval for transportation projects within the BGMPO urban area are consistent with the air quality goals established by the State Implementation Plan (SIP) and included in the BGMPO Metropolitan Transportation Plan and Metropolitan Transportation Improvement Program. The BGMPO’s adopted Transportation Conformity Determination Report for the 2020-2029 Transportation Improvement Program documents this conformity and can be found here .
