The city of Mebane is developing its 2040 Comprehensive Transportation Plan (CTP) which will identify the desired multimodal Transportation system needs for the next 20 - 30 years.  The CTP considers social and environmental impacts and creates a planning consensus and unfified vision among residents, the  business community, local and regional planning partners and NCDOT.  Ramey Kemp and Associates, a consulting firm hired to develop the plan, identified traffic congestion as a major issue which the city hopes to solve by creating median turn lanes, sidewalks, and bike lanes. This is Mebane's first effort at comprehensive transportation planning that incorporates the needs of all stakeholders into actionable projects. The study is anticpated to be adopted, Summer 2018.  For more information contact Cy Stober, Mebane Development Director,
