The Burlington-Graham Metropolitan Planning Organization (BGMPO) is a regional transportation planning agency serving Alamance County and portions of Guilford and Orange Counties. Our purpose is to promote safe and efficient transportation investments in the metropolitan planning area that fuel economic growth, protect natural and cultural resources, and support a high quality of life for all residents. Help Shape Our Transportation Future!
We invite YOU to help shape the future of transportation in our community by participating in North Carolina’s Prioritization 8.0 (P8) process.
What is P8 and Why Does It Matter?
P8 is NCDOT's state-directed process to decide which transportation projects get funded over the next 10 years. While the state uses technical data to score projects, local feedback directly guides how BGMPO allocates our local input points by giving our community's priorities a boost to get funded and built.
Current Phase: Division Needs
We are currently in the Division Needs phase (focusing on local transportation priorities). BGMPO wants to know how you would prioritize projects across our area. The survey is categorized into two main groups:
- Highway (roadway improvements)
- Non-Highway (Bike/Pedestrian, Rail, Transit, and Aviation)
3 Ways to Share Your Feedback:
- Prioritize the Projects – Rank the projects you most want to see funded.
- Point Allocation Exercise – "Spend" your budget on your favorite projects.
- Open-Ended / General Comment – Share your overall vision in your own words.

Draft Regional Local Input Point Assignments for SPOT 8 Available for Review
Ahead of our next meeting, we are sharing the draft point assignments for the SPOT 8 Regional Local Input Point cycle. MPO staff have applied the adopted BGMPO Local Input Point Methodology to assign points for projects competing for Regional Impact funds.
